Indigo/Cribo locales?

Jonasgn Oct 15, 2004 05:33 PM

Hello I have a few questions conserning the distribution of the different Indigos/Cribos. I know that the eastern Indigo live in south eastern USA, but what about the Blacktail, yellowtail and unicolor?
Thanks in advance
Jonas

Unicolor, rubiudus, (redtail) and orizibensis are all strictly Central American

melanurus (blacktail) is found in central and Northern S. America, west of the Andes. The yellowtail is found only in S. America, east of the Andes

check out www.indigosnakes.com for answers to many of your questions, including the permit issues.

Did you make any progress on that distribution map you were working on?

Are you saying that there are three seperate subspecies of Dry living in the same part Central America? Is it possible for seperate sub-species to inhabit the same region, and still be truely seperate subs? That just seems a little odd to me, given that our two sub-species range is seperated by several hundred miles, and the fact that central america is kind of small.

And where exactly are the Unis. And again what are the export import regulations concerning this particular sub-species? I guess what I realy want to know is where can Unis be found, and is it legal to export them from there to here?
