Hey after the chat last night, i woke up this morning to find that my arylic side door did "warp". The part that was silicone down was fine but on the top part the sides bend backwards a little bit. Now the top doesnt fit perfectly in anymore. Not sure if this will effect your tank since you are going to use it as a top instead of a side door. So, if you havent bought the piece or decided yet you might want to go with 1/4 glass.

Jaso,
I have found a solution to this and it seems to be working great so far. Look at the reptile type aquariums and the glass tops lock down with these little plastic twist type locks. If you drill holes on your plexiglass lids with a dremel you can install these and they will lock the edges down tight. I will try and get you a pic of my imitator tank so you can see what I am talking about. Thanks for the tip.

JASO,
Here is a pic of the lock I tried to describe to you. I have been using it for a few months now and it is working great so far. I got them at a local pet store. They were 4 for $6 I think. Contact me with any questions and I will try and help you the best I can.
