I am a federal Employee and I just wanted to make a statement and try to find out why in this age, when it is a known fact that PETA supports known domestic terrorist groups like ELF and such... why is it that as a US GOVERNMENT Employee I can give money out of my paycheck to these people as a donation? Every year the different organizations go around and push a program called the "combined federal campaign" which is a book full of charity and non-profit organizations that we as employees can give to, and there is PETA plain as day..... Isn't that a Joke? lol Government employees giving money to Terrorist organizations.

I'm a federal employee as well, though it doesn't have any bearing on how PeTA/HSUS can make the claim they do and still be technically correct ("We don't give any member contributions to ALF or other terrorist organizations".

Suppose there's a drunk guy on the street corner. He'd really like to go buy some Mad Dog 20/20 but he's also hungry, and he only has 5 bucks in his pocket. He panhandles you for money. You give him 5 bucks on the condition he won't use it to buy booze. He promises he won't, and indeed he doesn't--he takes YOUR 5 bucks and gets a supersize Extra Value Meal, but your contribution freed up money he already had, so that he could use it to buy some hooch.

Same thing with PeTA/HSUS.
