professionals??...?

I lurk, therefore I don't post. I am curious as to the two conversations below. Any thoughts?
Dr. Brady Barr? True professional? His capture techniques are very poor, he has much, much, much, much to learn. A PHD means nothing for true experience. True researcher? A true researcher would want to "catch" every species of crocodile in the wild....for what reason? EGO? Self satisfaction? Certainly not research?
Another subject, and I don't mean to belittle this stuff at all. As it really is neat stuff. Crocodile behavior training? Is this something that everyone thinks is new? This stuff has been tried and true for a century. Verifiably so! I think it's great that this subject is being taken to the next level, but it certainly is nothing new. I fully respect that sort of work, but it always seems thought of as new work. It is not.
Truly, people I am not being rude or attacking anyone! I have read these forums for long enough that I know what I have said will probably cause a "flame war" I hope not, because I truly intended no offense to anyone.

Would a purely scientific show on crocodilians be a marketable product for the general public, unfortunately no. If it were, it would already be on TV. I think Brady Barr and others are using "edu-tainment" shows to get people interest in wildlife while trying to maintain a marketable product(show). I know that much of the science is ripped from these shows during the editing phase in favor of the more sell-able action segments. While I don't think Brady's shows contain much research, they are a means of getting and hopefully keeping then general public interested in crocodilians.
