I've had 4 subspecies of Kings, love my MBK best because:

1. Most aggressive feeders.
2. Maybe the most docile when handled, if handled often.
3. Active longer; the Sonoran Desert usually requires brumation only about 8 weeks of the year. Theirs is among the most southerly ranges, and they may be active longer in the autumn, and sooner in spring.
4. Spririted and active, most lines not yet interbred. Mine tests my alertness often when out exercising.

Isn't it amazing how glossy they are? (Still don't rival the irridescence of African House Snakes, though. They are also the fastest strikers. You don't even see them strike, just coils.)

Best wishes with yours. Mine seems to be thriving in his mini Sonoran Desert: 60-gallon vivarium with sand, rocks, wood and 4 major hiding spots.
