I was suggested a blood python when I asked about what kind of snake I should get next. I have always heard they were mean, but you know how that goes one person gets bit, gets mad, and immediately hates that species. I am an open minded person and really don't mind getting bitten a few times. But I would still like to ask a few questions from people with personal experience with Bloods. How is their overall temperament? Are they any specific requirements for this species? I have read a few articles but nothing comes close to personal experiences. So that's why I am posting this. All help and information would be greatly appreciated. Also, are there any websites, books, magazine articles, etc. that I should read?? Thanks again!

Brett

There is a very good care sheet on NERDS website that I found very helpful. Maybe Kara can post her "blood rant" for you. I also read through most of the old posts on the forum here. There are several good discussions on temperament, and the general concensus seems to be that they're great snakes. I would recommend scrolling through the other 4 pages of posts and reading anything that is of interest.

I just got my first blood a few weeks ago. She's a spooky little baby, but nothing more than can be expected. She hasn't hissed or bit yet, and I am absolutely convinced that she'll be wonderful when she gets big enough to get some confidence. People will tell you the bloods and short tails are addicting, and I can definately see why. Read up, and hopefully you'll see it too.
