Hey B22, I know you've seen the answer to this one lol.
The only time a male and a female should be housed together is short term for breeding purposes. If housed together they will contantly mate and your female will always be gravid. This is very stressful to her and will lead to an early death.

omg im so sick of that bs.
i keep beardies together year round. they dont always breed. only during breeding season. which is when i want them to breed anyway.
my female is not always gravid. and she is not stressed by having a constant cage mate.
I dont know why so many people think it is a bad thing to do, but they are wrong most of the time. The only time it is a problem is if the cage mates dont get along, and since dragons are quite social this isnt a common problem.
Go ahead and yell at me and tell me im wrong but im not.

LMAO, alright little Jonathon we've had this discussion/argument before and you're going to do what your going to do. Yes there are exceptions but as usual I try to give SAFE general advice that goes with known mainstreem husbandry. What works for you will not work for everyone (or even the majority), what I'm recomending will.

mellow yellow first year with the girl whas grazy he wanted to mate constantly.
and i have put him separete after 2 months because he not eated and only wanna make love.
now the second year i see he is abit relax and i have him now with the gurls.
so i think one time its posibal to housed them toghter and other times not.
and i think you must tell people there is a change some time it not go ok.
some times you can let grow up 2 beardies togheter in same cage other time one get bigger and then the little one wil not grow .
every timne its a diferent storie.
so youre r both right

Hey Sean,
Let him house them together. We both know that he'll be posting more questions soon. Such as: Why won't my female eat?
Why isn't my female moving? What do I do for my female 'cause she got bit, bad tail nip, missing digits, etc?
You know the routine. And we all know the risks. I can't understand why anyone would want to take chances with their animals. Unless, of course, they're only in it for the $$$.

Generally it isn't a good ideal to house dragons together. For one thing, if you do get a second dragon you would have to get one the same size and approximate weight of your current dragon and have a large cage that would be comfortable for two adult dragons. The larger the cage the better so you can have duplicate basking spots, hiding spots etc so the dragons can get away from eachother if they need to.
Though some dragons can get along with eachother without stressing one or the other, over mating, fighting etc. there have been times when after a few years or even a few months of peaceful co-existance, then one gets aggressive and injuries the other one. Bearded dragons are not normally social animals, like most reptiles. They typically only come in contact with eachother in the wild during mating season or hatching.
If you have a female dragon now and when she is old enough (15months or older) you can buy an adult male to introduce to her and breed her. I would get a separte cage if you get another dragon just incase they don't get along. Another thing to remember is you should quarentee any new bearded dragon from your current one for at least 3 months. You want to get three clean fecals and bills of health from your reptile vet as well during that three months. This ensures you don't infect your current dragon with any ailments or parasites the newcomer may have. Adenovirus is one deadly ailment that doesn't always show outward signs in an infected animal and it could be months before the animal suddenly dies or exhibits symptoms. I remember reading here and on other forums about a company that gave away free bearded dragon babies that had adenvirus and several people lost most or all of their collection of bearded dragons due to improper quarantee practices.
There are alot of things to consider when putting more than one bearded dragon in a cage. Sometimes the two dragons get along great without any problems but most of the time, there are problems.
