Which do you think would be a better project for my first go at breeding ball python morphs?
Thanks,
Amy

Depends. If you're looking for a greater financial return, I'd start with Piebalds. If you're on a budget, go with Albinos. Both seem pretty financially sound. If you're referring to difficulty in breeding, they should be the same.

It's no fun unless you are working with animals that you don't like as much....
Just go with which one you like the most and work from there....

go with albinos i think pieds are just plain ugly

reptilicus81 Oct 17, 2004 11:51 AM

haha thanks guys! I like the albinos and the 100% hets are about half the price of piebalds. My boyfriend likes the pieds the best! But oh well! Now if I breed a 100% het for albino male to one of my normal females I will get 50% hets. Should I breed the females back to their dad to prove them out, or should I buy another 100% het male?
Thanks Again,
Amy

I too would buy another het albino male from completely different stock .
Of course you have plenty of time for that.

Yeah that is definetly true! I think I got a good deal on a pair of 100% hets due in December, so I may decide to go with them instead of just a male 100% het.
