I got a Zoo Med ceramic heat emitter from Reptile Depot, it was half the price for the one on PetSmart. As for the clamp and stuff, you don't need a fancy one. Just go to Lowes and grab a dome, but make sure it has a ceramic hole so it can handle the heat. I think the 8" were around $7 compared to "special reptile ones" for like $20 . As for the size, probably 60 watt if you are gonna use a dome and have it go straight down, they usually say on the box. In one tank I got a 60 w going straight down its about 90F on bottom, and I have a 100W that is in a light hood and it faces sideways, it is about 85F under that. So with a dome try 100 if you have a rheostat or dimmer,if not, you got to get one, they are really hot, it melted my shirt where it touched it instantly and they let you adjust it perfectly. Light dimmer was $9 at Lowes, you can get a fancy thermometer/dimmer combo for $25-30 . You can usually get stuff at shows a little cheaper I found.
>>Hey I am going to a reptile show this upcomming sunday (not tomarrow but next week) and I need to get a ceramic light, I have a 15 gallon tank *I made it a 2 story*, what size ceramic light would you guys recommend? I have a $25 certificate for petsmart but I figured the shows might have a better price (petsmart online sells a flukers and a ZooMed Ceramic Heat Emitter, 100 Watt for 25.99, and flukers has a Porcelain Clamp Lamp, 5.5" for $9.99. are these good prices or should I wait for the show and just use my petsmart card for my cat supplies?
>>
>>so basically
>>What size ceramic light for 15 gallon (and my tank is pretty cool now even with the UTH, it's only reading 60-70)?
>>What's a good price for the clamp and the light itself, and should I just wait till i go to the show?
