I have noticed a number of flawed animals for sale, with ads even going so far as to state "cheap breeder", or "should not affect breeding." When should a "flawed" animal be put down? When should a "flawed" animal be taken out of the breeding pool? I have my own opinions, but looking for others. The most recent animals that come to mind are one eyed albinos and "unsteady" boas.
On a similar note: I purchased two unproven hypo female Balls. One appears to have compressed ribs, which will not allow her to pass eggs, or maybe even to form follicles. This animal has been retired to a vision cage, and will not be placed with any males, ever, which is very hard to accept because she appears to be a very nice hypo, unproven line. I plan on letting her just live out a nice comphy life
I would never think of selling her, would maybe one day consider giving her away as a pet, but based on pics, I would guarantee someone would pay over $1000 for her. I really think sometimes in this hobby/business, money REALLY takes over, and ethics go right out the door. The pic is the unproven hypo female, prior to her vet visit, and diagnosis/x-rays.
