Do they really grow this fast?

cod6545 Oct 16, 2004 08:35 PM

Saw this on the classifieds: http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=50&de=263096
The ad says she has a 5.5- 6" shell length. The ad also says she is less than a year old. Is this possible? Thanks! Brooks

i'm pretty sure no tortoise can grow that fast. but every individual tortoise will have a different growth rate so i guess it wouldn't be entirely impossible if you had say a large egg that hatched to a tortoise with a quick growth rate, but i'm thinking they were probably wrong.
