Eye infection implications

LNMS Oct 16, 2004 09:17 PM

What would happen to an untreated eye infection? My gecko that I've had for 8 years has suddenly had something wrong with his eye. I hate to sound callous, but I'm in a tight situation to provide vet care. What would happen to him if I did nothing? Blindness? Death? How would it die? Septicemia? Starvation? Really, I need to find the most humane and appropriate way to handle the situation.

Usually, though not always, eye infections are easy to treat. The vet will usually give a mild antibiotic cream. But left untreated, there can be other infections that set in, which could lead to a lot worse than the loss of an eye.
Most vets will work with you concerning payment.

The most humane and appropriate way is a visit the vet's offcie. Not to sound mean but wouldn't you want the same if you were sick or hurt. Like they said most will work with you on payment.
