Around 1998 I got my first two cresteds. Pricey by todays standards but a bargain at the time. Pictured is the female, taken tonight. From the time I got her until now, of all of my gex, she is a handfull. Note the open mouth display, never seen another crested do this, other than a (VERY FEW, like 1 in 50, and only just out of the egg) hatchling, she has never calmed down in this many years. She has been a prolific breeder. The pair produces the biggest gex (males > 60 grams) than any others I have worked with. Just wondering about what was up and about, then, circa '98. Is this a WC pair or just the female ??? The pair had, and as far as I know still does, a heavy pin worm parasite load. Never did anything as they were just fine, have done well for many years, but unusual in cresteds. The fact that this animal presents a formidable threat display after 6+ years in my care puzzles me. This behavior has always been an enigma...
Your thoughts are appreciated, nobody has to have an answer......
