Which is better for a beginner? Which is easier to care for? Is one nicer than the other, please I heard that a AFT is better for a beginner than a leopard, and I wanna make sure. I am confused. Please help! Jaz

Hello Jaz:
You will probably get several answeres to this question but I think Leopard Geckos are a better beginner gecko than Fat Tails. Personally I like Fat Tails better because once acclimated they become quite gentle and tolerate being held very well. The problem is that they can be a little touchy when you first get them which makes them a little harder to care for. Most of the problems associated with this species are related to collecting techniques.
Leopards, on the other hand, are voracious feeders that thrive under controlled conditions. They are also very tolerable of a variety of habitat setups. The problem with Leopards is that they are more high strung and not as calm as Fat Tails. Still, I think they are the best choice as a beginner lizard.
Good Luck!!!
