Ocellated skink question

Malays Oct 17, 2004 12:30 PM

I aquired an ocellated skink several weeks ago. Its housed in a 20 gallon long since its still rather small.
I am interested in getting another and setting up a 30 gallon long tank for both. I wanted to know if these skinks will fight if both males like Fire skinks will or not?
Can they be sexed?

you dont really need bigger than a 20 gallon for the two lizards but if you have the spce go for it as these lizards are cool to set up in groups.they are not very terrirtorial that i know of.if you get about five and put them in a big enough tank their is a good chance you will get some babies as they breed readily.hope this helps

Okay great. I didnt think they were as aggresive as lets say adult 5 lined skinks but wanted to ask.
Your right 20 long is fine but I have the 30 gallon long tank and stand screen, etc allready empty in my basement .
I figure now since going to get like 2 more might as well and decorate it nicely with sand, cemented rocks together. Glad to know a few could be kept together.
Thanks.
