Does anyone know were I can get a large background for my tank? It''s 48" long by 24" tall.

Aquarium supply stores sell tank backgrounds though these tend to have an aquatic theme but some could be used with reptiles. Using black construction paper tapped to the back of the tank works as well though for the size of tank you have, you will need to tape a few pieces together. If you are creative you can draw your own background. You could also photo copy desert/arid photos or print them out then piece them together to form a large mural. If you don't mind spending some cash you can have them laminated.

Your pet store should have tank for cheap. I have a 6 foot long enclosure, and that's where I got mine. Granted I had to buy the whole roll they had, but it looks great and was pretty cheap.

I have found this stuff in pet stores like Petco. It's kept on long rolls and you buy it by the foot.
