Caught a RES

kungfu2811 Oct 17, 2004 04:34 PM

There have been between 3 and 5(dont know exact number) red eared sliders at the wetlands near my house for a few years now. Recently, when looking for mantids down there, I managed to catch one of the turtles. Ive been taking care of him, and I know they arent native here, so I dont want to release him back down there again. What should I do with him? I know I could take him to a petstore, but im too afraid that he will end up being neglected and abused. He is an adult, and actually has some algae growing on his shell. Anyone have any ideas on what I should do with him? Im located in northern California.

Thanks,
Andrew

Contact your local chapter of the California Turtle and Tortoise Club or Turlte Homes, to see if they can place it.
