Thermostats..............BA1000 and ESU

bigdee Oct 17, 2004 05:15 PM

I just got a ESU thermostat it only has 1 receptacle/ outlet and it says nothing about wattage so I dont know whats the wattage. This looks Just like the BA1000 from big apple im looking to use this with a boa cage. Is one better than the other and should I take this back and get the BA? Can I just ad an adapter outlet to it to make more than 1 outlet if needed? Im thinking maybe its not 1000 watts but heat tape is only 25W so if its like 500w I should be ok?

If your heater(s) total only 25 Watts, then you have no worries with the ESU controller. I forgot the wattage rating of the ESU, but I believe it is at least 200 Watts, and may be 500 or more now. You may use an adapter to provide more outlets. It doesn't matter how many outlets or heating devices you have connected to the controller as long as they total less than the rated wattage of the controller.

The BA-1000 is no better of a controller other than it can handle up to 1000 Watts. If you are running 1000 Watts then you are running some serious heating.

Assorted rosy boas, some annulata. That's it.
