New Lepoard Breeders....great to see

leopardfan Oct 17, 2004 06:08 PM

Leopard Geckos has become a major part of the reptile world in recent news. I saw some new Leo "breeders" at the Hamburg show this past weekend. There were some nice lizards. One stand in particular, I think they were called "Killergeckos," had some really nice lizards. They are new with their project and had some low end geckos to get rid of, but also had some great leopards to show their upcoming projects. Some great Trempers and superhypo baldies. In particular, some great Giant Carrot heads that they plan to start. I was impressed and there was some talk around the expo about them. I know they are new and cant compete with the "big" guys, but I enjoyed seeing some knowledgeable new faces. The one guy apparently is a herpatologist. The show was great altogether, with many interesting repstiles.

I was there on Sat. and the guys you are talking about are the only ones that had anything intersting. Them and one other table with one guy selling were the only ones that seemed to know what they were talking about when it came to leos. There was one table selling a "ghost" for 75.00 that wasn't nothing more than a light colored normal with reduced spots. Then at another table we were told that there was no way to determine the sex of a leo until they were older. I was very disappointed in the Hamburg show this time. The last one had way more than this one as far as leos go. We are going to try our luck at the Philly show in November.
