carrot tail and sht ?

OK this may be a stupid ? but is the carrot tail a seperate genetic trait. Or you can breed tangs to carrot tails and expect tangs with the possibility of carrot tail?

The carrottail trait was developed in England by Ray Hine. It is different that the regular orange commonly found on leos. In other words, just because there is some orange at the tail base doesn't mean it's a carrottail. That color usually fades to yellow but the true carrottails stay orange.

Tangerines bred with carrottails can produce tangerine carrottails. This male was bred with a carrottail mother and tangerine father.
