baby unicolor feeding

i've finally got my baby uni eating good(4 live fuzzys a week)he wont take pinkys or anything without hair.whats the best trick for getting him to take frozen/thawed fuzzys? thanks, steve

The best way I've found is to put one live fuzzy in with 2 or 3 F/T ones. He'll eat the live one, then while he's in a feeding mode, usually he'll go ahead and eat the F/T, too. The trick is to get them nice and warm (100 degrees or so) before you put them in. Once you do that a couple of times, you shouldn't have any more problems. You've gotten past the hard part now.

steve, uni's can be switched pretty easily to f/t. once they start eating, they'll eat almost anything. one easy way is, once he sheds the next time, don't offer food for 3 days and on the 4th, quietly wiggle a warm, fuzzie right in front of his hide. BANG! [tearing the throat of the fuzzy gets them even more excited and really liking food too] then just leave the rest right there and he'll find them. good luck!
