Hot Diggity-Damn!

Well the little male hognose finally ate. I went to check on the snake earlier this evening and the spadefoot toad was standing at the entrance of the hognoses cave. Nothing new. I got the feeling the toad was running the show there for awhile. I just checked on the critters again and the toad is no where to be seen. There is a slight lump in the snake but nothing real noticable. The toad was pretty big too. I really wanted to catch the snake feed, damnit! Now I'm concerned, I found the toad but with winter fast approaching I doubt if I will find another, I checked the only petstore that sells spadefoots and they are about 6 bones each. That could get a tad expensive. I'm hoping to try the tuna scented pinkies soon. Wish us luck.

If tuna scenting a pinky don't work, have a toad scented pinky ready, and tease him with a live toad. When he goes for it, pull it back and offer him the scented pinky instead. This worked for me more than once. Good luck
