I know when I raised leos - I put extra calcium in the cage during the breeding season. I wanted to be sure they got all the calcium they wanted/needed.
With rhacs - I've heard of people putting calcium in the cage for them to eat at will. But (not to be a schill for T-Rex) with the T-Rex CGD I've been using - I haven't seen the need. I just feed them every other day - and the females were fine during breeding season.
With crix, I don't know. It certainly wouldn't hurt to have more calcium available.

I put dusted crickets in my cresteds' enclosure and have seen them go to spot where some calcium was on a bromeliad and lick the calcium up so I would say they will take it directly.
