new thermostats

bigdee Oct 18, 2004 12:45 AM

with the new thermostats out now which is better? I would think that newer would have more features or something. I will be heating 1 cage 4x2x2 and maybe a sterilite. Why do you think 1 is better than the other and what do you use?

I use the simple one that is from beanfarm.com. It works fine, but if you want the best and have a few bucks--go with helix.

I think it's better because it is digital and offers a higher degree of control. It's probe is more accurate. I guess that is what it comes down to.

It's also nice to have a safety shutoff (most do, though).

Hope this helps some.

I prefer the Herpstat digital thermostat. I may be a little bias though since I recommended some of the features to the manufacturer but either way I think for the price you can't beat it. Here is a link to all the features:

I like the GCS Reptile Habitat control system the best. I has pulse a proportional system, limit alarm, timed automatic shutoff, and an optional computer interface. I love that! Also, Gene is a top-notch guy to do business with.
