This is my first time back into Kingsnake since its introduction back in the 90s!!! Haha... Well my name is Matt and I wanted to say hi as I am recently a new Pit owner having purchased a young bullsnake a couple months old from a local petshop. My corns and king I ordered from a breeder over the internet, but I couldn't resist with these cute guys being on sale for $20! She must be about 20" and is extremely gentle, has never even flinched when picking her up or handling her. I'm a little dissapointed I haven't heard her hiss yet! Maybe someday I'll have to mess with her =D. So, nonetheless, I have a few questions that I couldn't find with searches that are farily specific to her, so here goes, thanks in advane for any help:

She and her litter mates, sexes housed seperately, were labeled as "Het Bullsnake IL" - IL for Illinois. I'll get pics up soon, but the only strain I could find of bullsnakes that she looks like is the "Axanthic Bulls" as featured at Greg's Reptile Basement. FWIW, all the littler mates looked the same. I love the natural colorations. Does anyone know the history of this snake?
- Is it local to Illinois and surrounding region??
- Is this type known for being a larger member of the Pit family, such as those big Texas bulls that often reach 7 ft?
- I've had great luck with my snakes over the past 6 years with health, never a single glitch, (except for losing a couple when I was first starting out!) but I want this snake to grow fast and be a large adult. I will not turbofeed her, which I know is unhealthy, but I plan on feeding her an approp. sized thawed mouse ever 4 days for the first year or two while she's growing.
- How large can I expect her to be in 6 months, 12, 24, etc?
- For how many years are bulls in the primary "growing years", about 3 as with corns and kings, followed by cont. slow growth?
- Any color changes with age with these brutes?

Thanks, and hopefully it will be nice to get to know y'all.

Peace - Matt from Minnesota
