Breeding Question

rob1217r Oct 18, 2004 10:27 AM

I have a 3 year old female BP and am thinking about possibly breeding her in the future. I don't know anything about it and I wouldn't do it anytime soon.

I have read alot of posts on here and looked at a few sites that give tips about how to breed snakes (temp, humidity, etc.) but I was wondering if there are any guidlines on what snakes you can breed. For example, does the age of the possible male matter? Will some morphs not mate with others? Do you have to let the snakes get used to each other first or can you just put two snakes together? Do snakes not mate well after a certain age? Is there a guidline of how many times males/females can mate safely?

I wouldn't be trying it for a while, just had some questions rolling around in my head. They all stemmed from me seeing a really beautiful baby male in the pet store.

breed the sucker---cool down now (archive for ext info)
and in a few months breed it, even if it is a normal. You will get experience with the process and when it comes time to breed something expensive you will have at least an idea of what you are doing. you will have a better chance at not losing money and producing beautiful snakes. Good Luck
