Can a female lay 2 eggs, but only one be fertile?

Gecko2525 Jun 28, 2003 06:06 PM

My female laid 2 eggs about a month ago. The eggs are both the same size and getting bigger. I checked them with a flashlight to see if there was any colour. I didn't pick the egg up though. There was pink in one and yellow in the other. It has gone mouldy or anything yet. I checked on her just laid eggs too. One is showing signs of pink. The other one looks yellow and doesn't look as good.

So.....Can a female lay two eggs, but only one be fertile?
Is she missing something in her diet?

Thanks!

Yeah Liz it can and does happen. Why? Could be a number of things or just a fluke, I wouldn’t sweat it though see what happens with the next clutch. =).
