I think it is time to take it to the vet. If he is refusing to eat it may be a parasite problem. I've noticed that they will not eat if they have a "tummy problem". You need to get a stool sample into the vet office, they don't cost that much and you don't want that animal to suffer anymore than it has, also what kind of setup do you have for him? If humidity isn't met they will have problems sticking. Is his temps in the mid 70's range? Although in my opinion I don't think it is a problem with his settings, I really think it may be a bacterial, parasite, or viral problem. And if you decide to just give up and give you problem to someone else then i suggest reptiles may not be your thing, sorry if that sounds harsh, but i'm more concerned for this animals welfare than anything else. I hope your guy pulls through and please post updates.

its me and the only thing it eats is baby food, and i use paper towels as substrate

If it isn't eating crix so what. Loads of breeders don't even feed crix anymore. Just get some crested gecko diet and feed it tha for a while. once it starts to get bigger and more confident, it'll probably have no prob eating a few then. alternatively you could try some wax worms or something. Do you use a heat mat?

Agreed. The diet can be mixed in with baby food to get him to eat it. Does he also have any difficulty moving around at all (beside not sticking to the glass) any twitching or anything?

Agreed also with other post that a trip to the vet may be get you the answers you need.

What does twitching indicate???

Ptindy Nov 22, 2004 02:21 AM

Twitching could indicate Metabolic bone disease (MBD). Not good, not enough calcium in their diets if you notice this. This can be prevented if twitching is noticed right away, if not, then MBD will set it. If MBD does, throw a dish of calcium in there, grab a bulb from the pet store that offers UVB and keep their setup simple!

As for the starter of this thread, don't give up! If it's eating baby food then your doing okay! Mine never ate baby food at first because the breeder never provided it, sooner or later they took it though. I'm sure your guy will take crickets soon too. Also, the non-stickyness your talking about if it hasn't gone away then maybe his little hairs he uses to climb have been ripped off. Is your screen made of mesh or wire? If it is mesh then that's your problem. The little hairs that allow them to climb get caught in it and rip out.
