The guy I've been getting my butterworms off of said that he was cleaning a cage he was using and found two butterworms that had burrowed under cork and died. They were hard as a rock and when he tried to wash them out he couldn't they had actually melted to the plastic. When I recieved my shipment I found several that were oin this hard as a rock petrified type state and there was a very potent acidic smell in the cup.
Does anyone know what might cause this? I'm not going to feed butterworms anymore and was just wanting to put that bit of info out there for some feedback. Do you think it could be the radiation they go thourhg before they are imported to kepp them from reproducing? ( I'm assuming that radiated means they are put through radiation? )
