Shelf liner question..

PoohBear03031 Oct 18, 2004 08:19 PM

I have seen a couple of posts and asome breeders websites that said that they use the thick pad like shelf liner. I bought some before to use in my leaopard geckos tanks, and immediatly took it back out. I dont know if i am just paranoid, but i was concerned about the chemical smell that it omitted when heated. Now i had it over their UTH's, so maybe that was why it smelled like that, but i was wondering if anyone else has had that kind of problem with it. I am planning on gettinga beardie next week and I am trying to figure out something besides from the paper options. I have all my leos on paper towels, because as i said before I am kind of paranoid about their safety. Any feedback welcome. Thanks.

Wash it first, I think most of the smell comes from oils left behind in the manufacturing.

I use it in all my cages now. I love it!. The washing took away the odor.
Take care,
