My kingsnake recently shed. It took her about a week, and there is still a large patch of old skin on her. How do I help her shed this, and how can I prevent an incomplete shed in the future?

Mostly likely it is a humidity issue. Once my snakes eyes clear I start raising the humidity by either putting a cantainer of water over there undertank heater and cover the tank or below there overhead heater(I cover the tank here also but be very carful not to cause a fire from the lamp). If you can't do that you may try misting the cage to keep the humidity level high until the the snake completes its shed. I am sure others will offer more suggestions.

I've been misting the cage every day now. I've even been putting in new bedding to keep the humidity. The most afective thing for me so far is been puting a wet paper towel in her cage. When I did this, she shed more smoothly, but still in many pieces.
