project topic......??

mixitup Oct 18, 2004 09:09 PM

I have to do a senior project in school and I get to pick a topic. I was thinking of doing one on reptiles of some sort. I own 2 Red-eared sliders and 2 Chinese Water dragons, and am interested in other herps. I am basicly new to reptiles, so I thought this might be an oppertunity to learn more, and perhaps educate others.
One of the requirements is to create/do something about the topic, AND community service or experience hours.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions on what my topic could be? Thanks!!

The ideal topic would be to research how developement in your area has impacted your local herps.

The community service? Well...demonstrating the value of an "impacted" species to the community would be a service.

thats a good idea, I hadn't really thought of anything like that! I know there is some sort of problem with development and Snapping turtles population going down in my area, I'm not really sure of anything else, but I could definitly look into it!
thanks for the help!

at an elementary school will not only count as community service it will probably also count as a progect. Get in touch with your teachers, guidance counselors, the principals at the desired schools, and whoever else you would need to contact about this.
