Kinda OT but VERY important...please read folks...

This link will take you to a page on the VPI (Dave & Tracy Barker) website, and since October is breast cancer awareness month, it seemed a good idea to bring this to as many people's attention as possible.

As many of you know, Tracy has been a HUGE influence on my snake keeping career & is largely responsible for my blood python addiction. (thanks Tra!) She is a kick-@$$ herper, wondermom & just a terrific woman all around, so it would mean a ton to me if all my blood python forum pals would read this page & take it to heart.

Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!

Hey Kara,
Thanks for posting that, as I like so many I'm sure, were unaware that Tracy was diagnosed with BC. My heart goes out to her, and pray that she makes a full recovery. I can't imagine the impact that something like BC, can have on such a young and vibrant life. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Tracy caught her BC early with a mammogram, and has whooped ass on it in the mean time. She is truly amazing & is certainly an inspiration.

The IMPORTANT thing is that we all do what we can to contribute to breast cancer research, as well as reminding the women in our lives that mammograms are CRUCIAL!

Spread the word folks. Stay healthy!

Kara -- thanks for posting this. I agree that it's very a important message to get out. The breastcancer.org website is also very informative and extremely well set up.

It's something that many women can just kind of forget about, and it's always good to have brought to our attention. As Tracy demonstrated, being conciencious can help avoid a trajedy. I wish her good health and would like to thank her, as well, for bringing this to our attention.

Thanks again,

Great post Kara. Definately something that should be brought to womens attention wherever it can be. My only experience with the Barkers is from the knowledge I have gained from all their writings and research I've come across in the herp community. Nothing but the upmost respect for them, and wish Tracy the best, it sounds like shes doing well tho.
