What it takes to move about 70 snakes...

carl3 Oct 18, 2004 10:32 PM

LOTS and LOTS of time! I spent ALL day Saturday moving my entire collection into my new home. Unfortunately, all the outlets in the new herp room are all on one circuit (unlike my old home) and therefore I can't use the same number of heat sources as my old setup since too many will trip the circuit breaker. UGH! Not to mention that I'm still in my old home so my snakes are not being monitored in my new home.

While I love ALL the pics everyone is posting below (especially you Jimmy)...its killing me since I'm VERY worried b/c I cannot monitor them after such a big move. Its amazing how emotionally and financially attached we become to our snakes. I actually had a short-term memory loss and went into my old herp room forgetting that I moved them already.lol.

Well, all I can do is hope for the best but expect the worst.

I have almost the whole week off of school during the first week in November so hopefully I can catch up on some photo ops.

Sincerely,
Jason

Jason I feel for you buddy. In my old house I had same problem with outlets and breakers. So what I did was just use one plug in room heater.I kept the room at about 85 and didnt have any problems. If my snakes got to hot they just went to the back of the cage closer to the cooler walls.I also ran a humidifier close to them as that will dry the room out bad.Dont know if this helps you any.It not real hard to add another breaker either. The house we owned was built before the civil war and still had those screwy glass fuses from the 40'50's and there was no way I could add anything to it...Paul
