New Cage Being Built

Dubhead23 Oct 18, 2004 11:17 PM

Here are the beginning pictures of the cage I'm building for my Argentine Boa who's 8 feet long. It's 6 feet wide, 2 feet deep, and 4 feet tall. She's a climber so that's why I'm building it tall and so if I ever need it for something else it'll be big enough.

Here's the tile I'm using for the floor...

I'm using tile with floor mat heaters underneathe and 2 Ceramic heat bulbs from the top with the UV light bar. I'm building in a waterfall out of Tile Grout and styro stuff I got at Lowes. I'm also going to have a shelf on the right 18" up and 18" out from the right side wall and underneathe there will be a cave for her to hide in. Any and All ideas would be great to make this a great cage for my snake.

That cage sounds great. Glad your putting in shelves. When I lived in Panama. I saw boas up in trees never saw them on the ground even the big boas. Ofcourse thats not to say they prefer tree and they dont go on the ground but it shows that they do love to climb even at large size.
Its to bad so many keep them in low cages without climbing shelves, branches, etc.

Find those sites that help make you build those styrofoam walls that always come out neat, use cypress mulch, a narly branch extending the long ways and fake leaves twisted around that branch. You can even use styrofoam for the cave your thinking about.

My plan is to use the styrofoam covered in cementto make walls and a waterfall into a pond. It's going to look as realistic as I can make it with live plans and everything.

Any other help would be great!!!
