I have become an avid reader of this forum and thought perhaps one of you might comment on whether my vet used batril appropriately in my 40 gram hatchling.
The hatchling arrived in Sept., shipped from Florida with no heat packs even though I warned the breeder that we were having cold nights here in N.Y. A week later it showed signs of mucus and audible breathing.
My vet has a good reputation as a herp vet, and prescribed batril injections for 5 days on; then 5 injections, every other day. The hatchling did great, and would even go to eat after the injection. He actually gained 10 grams.
The injections ended last week, and I noticed his nose was running again last night. Was this dosage appropriate?
Any thoughts would be welcome. I have a good temp. gradient in the enclosure, from about 78 degrees to 100 degrees with hide spots. His diet is varied, with alot of dandilion.
Thank you!
