Hi,

I currently have my turtle tank arranged so that my turtles are in a shallow pool of water. I read that red slider turtles enjoy swimming in deep water given that they are provided with some type of basking surface. I'm thinking of filling up my ten gallon tank with more water so the turtles can actually swim. Does anyone have recommendations in how I can still create a basking surface? Would a floating piece on the surface work well? Also, I would like to decorate the tank for the turtles by putting in freshwater plants and rocks. My main question is, is coral safe to put in a freshwater tank with turtles? I've heard of people using crushed coral in freshwater tanks for their fish... please help me.
