Breeding Kenyan sand boas

I have a few questions for any Kenyan breeders out there:

I have probed countless snakes to determine their sex, but the reduced tail of Kenyans leave me scrarching my head. How many scale rows into the tail would you say qualified a male?

Do you brumate (cool) your snakes before breeding? If so, what temperature do you keep them at and for how long?
