Wanted to know the ideal day and night temps for henkeli geckos?
thanks
Depends on your purpose... For breeding, my temps are around 72-73 during the day and around 68-70 at night when I have them in off season and cooled down... Pretty soon here, I will warm them up to about 75-76 or so for daytime and 72-74 at night... This is all in a perfect world... In reality, I live with roommates and I sometimes will come home to see that the heat is on or off, when it wasn't or was when I left and I have not been able to adjust vents accordingly... This causes more flux than I would like and it's a pain in the a$$... I do my best to keep on top of it though... I have kept them at a pretty constant 72-74 year round and they have bred too... Just don't go 80 or above for any extended period and not below 65ish for any decent length of time... Hope this helps...

unfortunately, i run into the same problem at my place. the AC helps keep temperatures fairly smooth at my place, but i have one roommate who just cannot get it through his head after many many lectures about the fact that all my gex need to be kept below 80 degrees. since we have only one thermostat and its downstairs, it often gets a lot coolor down there than up here, and he decides its time to turn off the AC, threatening the nearly $2000 worth of geckos i have. some of the time, its ok because it will be cool outside and i can just open a window in my room. however, yesterday i woke up 3 times in my sleep because it was too hot, and the temperature outside was in the low 70's. this roommate keeps complaining that its too cold downstairs, when in all reality its kept around 70 degrees. so whenever i notice it's off, i tell him to quit being such a pansy, seeing as he isnt even around for most of the day, and i turn the AC on. luckily at the highest it usually gets around 78-79 in my room when he turns the AC off, so many of my gex are to their upper limits of tolerance, but all have done fine. as far as whether or not this has affected their breeding, i wouldn't doubt it seeing as last year, with different roommates who let me keep it cooler, my gex bred for me. this year i havent gotten a single eggs from any of my crested gex or leaf tails. kinda disappointing. always keep a fan around to keep the air circulating, cuz the air definitely seems to drop a few degrees when i keep a fan going in my room.
LOL... Yeah, I definately know what you're talking about... God I wish I could afford to live in my own place right now!... I've had success in the past as well, but that whole year I lived with only my gf, so she and I were on the same page and I pre much controlled temps and humidity to a T... Well... one year and a soap opera later I now live with roommates again (after two years she left me for a coworker of hers who just happened to already be married and have kids)... I'm 23, young and dumb, I shook it off... So yeah, my temps have been all over... Hopefully not bad enough to effect their breeding... I do have the extra space to move them in and out of cooler/hotter rooms so thats nice... I recently warmed up one of my henk pairs and the female is around 79 grams!... I'm pre sure she's gonna drop soon... Sometime in the begining of Nov. I am going to warm my other pairs and hope for the best...

LOL Oh my, your temps seem to be fluctuating in all SORTS of areas, heheheh !
Sorry about the soap opera thing, and the girl that decided the grass was greener, in an ALREADY prepared family atmosphere.
But being older and wiser, LOL I say she was the one who was young and DUMB ! NOT YOU, my friend !
With your love of critters, you should attract a GOOD person one who will appreciate YOU more, and REALLY BE ON THE SAME PAGE, as I don't think the other one truely was!
Good luck with your TEMPS hahahahahaha ! Hang in there they are SURE TO STABILIZE with time
