I work for a wildlife center, and in came a 12 ft burmese. She's nice and tame and I want to adopt her out. So I put an add on the craigslist in my area to try to do so locally, and this is the responce that I get from some girl.

"There has been over 30 people killed by Burmese Pythons told about in the newspaper.
Please don't sell that dangerous snake to anyone!
I love snakes BUT Burmese Pythons really need a VERY VERY experienced person to care for them ...
Definatly PLEASE do not sell to anyone who has children or teens or elderly people (living with them) or dogs / cats or other pets .
Burmese Pythons are wild animals ... they cannot be tamed.
Those who keep these monsters as "pets" need to be EXTREMELY CAREFUL.!!!!

Try to see if a zoo will take him!"

they will steal your breath while you sleep. Man, I would say at least once a day I come across someone who hates snakes. I ask them why and they say things like, they're a wild animal, they're not tame, I hate their tongue, they kill people, they're slimy, they bite, they have teeth, they saw one as a kid and it scared them. Then I apply any of those to a more commonly accepted pet and they "Uh duh, well ya know" I keep asking them until they realize they don't like snakes because they were taught not to or they say there really is no real substantiated reason. But they usually stick with, "Well, I still hate snakes." The gene pool is running low!

I hate people. I can give them several reasons why I can't stand most people and they are solid reasons. I tell them one would then have to summize that snakes are better creatures than people; even them because they hate or dislike for no legitimate reason. That'll really get you either a blank stare or an intresting conversation.
