8 a day sound more then enough, perfect in my opinion, if u can try to feed him some baby silkies also, and if u can some fruit flys, for some variety

Hey thanks. i used to have a whole bunch of silk worms but they went and died on me i think it was because they got too cold? although i did everything i was supposed to. got any tips on how to do silkworms? also do you know of any good websites to buy them?

err depending on where u live, theres a place here (check the red link at the top the Breeder's, deeler's, otres) and u shoudl find some, I live in canada so I wouldn't know about america

and about them getting cold, u could just put them under a simple normal bulb (not an expensive basking light)

silkies are very sensitive to bacteria, especially when they are small. If you get more make sure you wash your hands before handling them, or the whole colony can go kaput. Also, make sure to keep them in an open or fully screened topped container. They are REALLY sensitive to moisture, and without a great amount of circulation they will die.
A good rule for feeding baby chams is to feed them until they stop "hunting" or ravishly snapping up the crickets. I'm sure you know what i mean by this.... They go CRAZY when they are hungy!! I would suggest feeding him until he slows down or stops, counting the # of crix he eats. Do this for 3-4 days and you will have a pretty good idea of the average he needs.

as a baby he can pretty much eat as much as he wants. Did you get the dusting all figured out (calcium, etc.) As for silkies here's a link
