Well, here I am sitting at my computer after putting two of my large borneos together, again. I tried this last week and the resulting tossle ended in a shattered pain of glass on one of my Vision cages. This is the second time my borneos roughed it up and broke glass and this was between a male and female! So, what is my lesson learned? I tossed them in a larger cage and stood over them as they danced around their first series of introductions--and took some measure to keep the glass in place.
If you never experience breeding pythons, you really don't know what you are missing. Just throw a couple of borneos together (I have one named The Rock for good reason) and you get to see all the "classic" courtship signs within minutes! This includes spurring which I have digitally recorded, cloacal gaping (as I type this), sensual hissing-at least from a snake's perspective and the wonderful slamming by the male when he has given up chasing. Oh, Oh, did I forget to mention flatulant urination! Ahhh, amore!
Woop there goes the slam again!
See what you get when you work too much.....
