Axanthic x piebald

dmac77 Oct 20, 2004 01:08 AM

I've heard a lot of buzz about albino x pied crosses in the works, which seems like a very interesting combo to me, but I've heard very little about an attempt to combine axanthics and pieds. What about pastels and pieds? Or am I just getting ahead of the game?

Any comments, ideas, opinions, flames, or badgerings would be welcome. Thanks.

Dave.

I believe I did see a few breeders working with pastel het pied, and I'm sure Axanthic x pied is in the making too. The big guys like keeping us all wondering what the next new designer is going to be. I'm just hoping my pastel possible het albino proves out.

I've seen a picture of what was reported to be an axanthic pied. I believe it was wild caught and being kept in Germany. It's hard to be sure as many older snakes look axanthic without being genetic axanthics but it gave you a good idea of what one might look like. The pastel or ghost would probably be more striking addition to piebald, give you bright yellow for a calico contrast.
