Got this one with the now known tremper albino from a few post down. Nice hypo tang, again the pic doesn't show the orange to well. Got them both for 40 bucks. Not bad huh?

Very cute....Here's a picture of a few of my petco leos.
Theres a new petco going in locally here, I can't wait to go up and maybe get some nice animals before they realize and up the price. C'mon grand opening.
At least I can get supplies a little cheaper now.

Those are some nice leos you have there too. Sometimes you can get some good catches at Petco. Here's another petco leo.
There are some nice leos at my local PETCO as well. I heard from the breeder from whom I am buying that they get there leos from a place in Florida - the Rodent something or other - but they might get them from numerous locations.
The only drawback to them is that looks can be deceiving and there are many hooror stories out there about geckos that look fine turning out to be infested. I know that's not unique to pet store chains, but I certainly feel more comfortable buying from a reputable breeder with whom I can have a conversation. There is the increased cost issue, if not for the initial leo purchase, then at least most of the time, the shipping.
The other thing that was brought to my attention is that, when you buy from a pet store chain, you have no idea of lineage. Not really a big deal I guess unless you want to breed for specific morphs. Personally, I like being able to look at the lineage and have a somewhat known commodity if I decide to breed.
All that being said, there is certainly something to simply buying because it's a nice looking leo and taking your chances on what they might be het for, etc.............and after all, what do I know, all I've done so far is read and e-mail about them. I won't even pick mine up until Saturday........ so, in closing, you can probably just disregard everything I've said

That's another nice Albino there, Spike.
Caboose, actually Ron and the male Albino picture I posted weren't bought for their looks and I was new to Leopard Geckos and bought them as pets. Tango, the nice reddish baby, was bought 3 months ago purposefully for looks. My PetCo is wonderful as far as parasites go and they've never failed to give me a happy, healthy animal thus far. I've even bought a Bearded Dragon from them. But, this does not mean that all PetCos will give everyone the same results. I only went ahead recently and bought Tango form PetCo because they have been clean of parasites in the past. I actually have bought my four other geckos from breeders and I don't encourage everyone to buy from Petcos unless they know a bit of the store's history.

I would have to agree with you on that. Our petcos around here are pretty good, but Petsmart is another story. The leos there are sooooo skinny. Alot of my leos have been bought from breeders as well, but if I go into petco and see something I like I will buy it. I have yet to buy an unhealthy gecko. (knock on wood).
Oh, I definitely agree. Petsmart here is awful! The geckos are always thin, they're missing toes and tails, and alot of them lay pressed against the window looking half-alive.. It's so sad..

well im glad to see not all petcos take care of there leos badly. but the petco up here is horrible they let the baby leos in with HERMI CRABS! yea its nuts and they have a fan footed gecko a golden gecko and a real nice tremper albino in the same cage. i feel real bad for the all the geckos there and they have so nice ones but they all prolly have parasites.
With HERMIT CRABS?!?! Ohhh that makes me mad.. How can they be so stupid.. I'm happy my Petco is a nice, clean store and it hurts to hear of other Petcos neglecting their animals so horribly..

I think I have asked this before but are you in Pa? If so where abouts in Pa. We are in Philly. We just had a Petco open up here. One of them has alot of nice Patternless as well.
I am up in Johnstown, if you don't know where it is at, it's about 20 miles north of exit 110 off of I76 about 1.5-2 hours from Pittsburgh. I might be headed your way for the narbc show in philly.
I keep watching the Petco site for the Johnstown grand opening announcement, but so far no date. They are on the sign as you turn into the new shopping center, but nothing on any building in there as of today to indicate where Petco is gonna be.

yea i know like i said its nuts. they even have a sign right there that says at petco our animals come first and i told them that thats a load of crap because they have baby leos in with hermit crabs and they said that they cant help that the geckos are in there and didnt even do anything to get them out. so i just never go there at all i just go to a little pet shop where they actually care about how to take care of animals not like the petco here where they dont give a crap! (sorry for the long post but the petco here pisses me off)
Yeah, I know! And Petsmart has all of these commercials where the animals look so happy, blah, blah, blah.. Yet so many of them are terrible.. I'm not saying there isn't any good ones out there, same with Petco, but the majority are just plain awful.
