Hello all

I was wondering, how can I tell if my girl is gravid? I never see them do anything. They do not like being "watched". Food vanishes over night, shedding is overnight and soaking is overnight or days long. They move every once in a while during the day...but not active at all. She has put on some weight and some days I swear she is and then some days she just looks very healthy. If she were gravid, how long till babies arrive and what should I look for/expect? I know my ATB is gravid...I believe I would be expecting some time in DEC..(?)

My gravid Brazilian Rainbows do not eat more than one or two small meals the entire time they are gravid. If they do eat while gravid it is around half way throght gravidity. They usually lay 5 to 5.5 months after the last observed mating. Gravid BRBs gain girth in he back half of the body and lose it in the front half during gravidity. During the last month or two they look very noticeably large and lumpy in the back half of the body and thin in the front half.
