this is possibly my favourite snake i have..when i baught her she was sold as a creamsicle and i was almost sure she wasnt a creamsicle...i thnk she might be an amel because of the little white she has around her saddles...is it possible she could be a sunglow mixed with amel? i know the sunglow has no white thats why im not sure whatever she is im happy by the way do you think she is a male or female? i have a pic of her tail attatched,, it goes thin right after the kink, and goes very thin very fast but is really long... hope you guys like her i will get some pics of my other corn *cornfed* when she sheds her skin this weekend

If you were told by the person who sold her that she was a cream, than she is cream. A creamsicle is a hybrid between an emoryi and a corn. She does not have to be 50/50 in order to be classified cream, just have emoryi in her bloodlines. The seller was doing the responsible thing in making sure you knew you were getting a corn with emoryi blood in it.

Creams can come in various patterns just like any other morph and will/do have white around the patches and some can be "reverse okeetee" creams with wide white bands around the saddles.

She is a beautiful amel and I can see why you are proud of her, but if she was sold to you as having creamsicle bloodlines, then you really should refer to her and her offspring as such too.

It is not so easy to tell by the tail because of the way you have it but, if I were to guess, I would have to guess male. But a view of the entire tail would be more helpful. Either way, it is a beautifully colored animal.

Gardenmum is right.
They wouldn't have told you creamsicle unless there was emoryi blood.
A creamsicle is an amelanistic corn snake/great plains rat snake mix.
corn/guttata....great plains/emoryi
so in other words an amelanistic guttata/emoryi mix.
AND that is a beautiful snake.

That is a pretty snake.

I second the guess that it is a male. Your finger is partially covering the crucial area that we look at to determine this, but it looks male to me from what I can tell.

really? i will try to get a better pic to determine then..the kink is where it is all orange and yellow..for some reason it has a really long tail...i wasnt sure if she would be creamsicle because the store said he had been passed through a few people..he was really underweight, and wouldnt even eat a hopper for some reason tho he was big enough to eat a regular size mouse, now i have him on huge adults and trying to switch over to baby rats soon so hes a creamsicle then..would it be like an orange creamsicle or something? because he has got really vibrant orange anyway thanks for the help guys

one more question, i am going to get all my snakes probed just to be sure what sex they are, will this cause alot of stress? i know it can cause injury if done wrong too thats another reason im worried, i dont want my snakes to get hurt..the guy at the store says he can do it, but when i saw him do one it looked kind of rough, and what if the snake jerks? will it go through the skin? or am i just worrying too much? i just dont want my snakes to be stressed out or injured maybe i should take it to a vet? would they do something like that?

Probbing shouldn't look rough. Someone holds the snake still and another person gently slides a probe into either a scent gland of a female or a hemipenis of a male.

I'd suggest you take it to a reptile vet. The pet store worker may be informed, but I'd never trust any of them where I live.

You keep saying "kink"... I suppose you mean the vent, not an actual kink (abnormal bend in the spinal column), right?

Tails are longer in males than in females, and while the tails taper off in both males and females, the males taper much less than females.

The more pure cornsnake blood that is in a snake, the more red it will be. Even if your snake only has 1% of emoryi blood in it, it should be called a Creamsicle, like others have said.
