Algae treatments for tanks - are these products really ok?

primo1 Jun 28, 2003 10:08 PM

Hi Guys,

I called AquariamPharm and asked them if they had any treatments for green and brown algae for my RES tank. They replied:

"Both AlgaeFix and Algae Destroyer are safe to use with turtles,
if used as directed."

Has anyone ever used AlgaeFix or Algae Destroyer effectively without harm to your RES?

I'm just looking for a go-ahead before I try the stuff.

TIA,

-Lyn

Ive used algae destroyer in my turtle tank before for green algae. It just turns it brown, and then you still have to scrub it. I didnt notice any trouble with the turtles, but I believe I used half the reccomended dosage.
