Just got a perfect match for my Black Peruvian....

Biophiliacs Oct 20, 2004 06:45 PM

I had seen her up for sale once last year and truely regretted not picking her up. Luckily, Nichole at Coal's Constrictors still had her this fall. She was just more of what I have in mind for Peruvians, particularly the slate gray/blue tint to the foreground body color. Very good weight, perfect pre-breeding condition. I've been waiting for a good match for my black Peruvian male(pic below), finally. Thanks Nichole!

A bit darker than the girl but a fair match.

When I pulled her out of the box, I couldn't believe how similar they were. I know the shots don't show it well- same tail color, same wash, same head type. Match-Maker.. Match-Maker..

Will these two be breeding this season? How big are they currently? I think those two will produce some really nice baby boas.
Good luck!

They(Peru pair) should go this year. The girl is about 12-15 lbs and the male also mature. I'll start to pair them off in a week or two and I guess we'll see.

Thought I'd post a hypo for your response below, this is a 03 MTH. She's only aroung 3 ft, but she downs a nearly full grown rat like nothing.

Wow Matt, I love that girl! Who produced her? Contact me if you want to get rid of her.
Best of luck with those black Peruvians.

Its a Monster Tail Hypo from Jeff Ronne, the best female he sold from the 03 season. The project for her is to breed to the Arabesque I bought from Burke this year, should be some killers from that breeding.

That picture was taken not long after I had got him(6-8 months ago). He had an abcess from a damaged tooth that made his nose swell a bit.. it's taken forever to heal. Other than that, he has a proportionately large head for a boa of his size, as all BCC should have. I was wondering if someone would notice that..

The blacks might not be the most beautiful BCC, but definately an anomoly within the ranks of Peruvians worth owning.

Matt, just curious, whats the belly and tail look like on that girl?
I would love to see a post. Thanks and good luck with her.
Sincerly,
Chuck

I don't know if I mentioned it above but their tail type is a faded out orange/red. Other than a slight difference in the amount of black eack of them has, you could almost say they looked like siblings. She doesn't have the black belly of BC melanogaster, but it is highly speckled. As soon as she settles in a bit, I'll get some full body shots of her.

PS- How are the Dumerils doing? I've paired off two of my adults already, have seen them breed a few times. However, my Dumerils group engauges in casual sex quite often.. so I can't be sure if its on or not.

I was just curious about the belly. i'd love to see the full body pic when you have one. Shes a lovely boa. Yeah dums are doing great.
I will not be breeding mine for sometime now. I only have three. one 03 female and i bought a pair of 04 siblings. so i'm a couple years away. Next year i might add a unreleted male Then i'll have two pairs. I don't really want any more as they do not seem to popular. Thanks
Chuck
