Just curious with you guys that have experience with breeding Eastern Kings and other Getula. With any given clutch of baby easterns, is there a certain percentage that will start right on pinks compared to wanting only to eat skinks or snakes? How about other Getula Kings, like Cal. kings, Mexican Blacks, splendida, etc... Do they tend to be better pinky eaters right from the start?
When I purchased my OuterBanks Kingsnake, I was prepared to purchase ground skinks to get him jump started, but before I made the order, I took a shot at feeding a pink on his first feeding in my care, and he took the pink right away, and has never looked back.
So I guess I consider myself lucky with this guy. He has an insane feeding response.
