My snake got hurt. Please advise

Well i have a MBK in a 10gallon tank with the screen lid on top and 2 clips on each end. Anyway i come home from work, walk into my room and see my snake hanging outside his tank with his tail stock between the lid and tank. I have no idea how he squeezed his whole body between the lid and the tank. I immediatly got him and soaked him in some warm water for about 5 minutes and he seems ok now. But this is what i found inside his tank. I dont no if its his own guts or the mouse i fed him a couple days ago. What do you think this is..pic below

Looks like he sqeezed something out.

What concerns me more is the fecal matter in the water dish. Thats a good way to make your snake sick because if they drink that they WILL get sick.

The fecal matter was squeezed out with the guts. So you dont need to be concerned about that cause i change the water daily. Thanks for looking out though. Im just trying to find out what the gut looking thing could be

In the past when I've used aquariums, I used no less then four clamps for the screen top on a 10 gallon aquarium. Six clamps if it were a 20 gallon long. I never trusted just two, because the way the snakes like to travel around the top of the lid area I was afraid they could wedge themselves in the non-clamped area. Pretty secure with method with enough clamps as I'm sure I don't have to tell you after the fact.
Now I use nothing but Barrs cages for all my snakes. I got tired of the weight of the aquariums, and hated taking anywhere from four to six clamps off per aquarium. Sorry that happened to your little guy. Let's hope it was just food content.

I've been using about a two square inch piece of extra strength adhesive Velcro in each corner of my 10 gallon tanks. Seems to create a tighter fit than clips, and is quicker to remove.
